At the 2013 Day on the Farm event, there were over 2,000 people in attendance. This year, we had an even larger turnout! We partnered with Western General Insurance to support this terrific event at Sheldon Creek Dairy on June 14, 2014. We hope you were able to attend!
The main purpose of the 2014 Day on the Farm event was to illustrate to our local community where food comes from and to help those young and old develop an understanding and appreciation of agriculture by directly engaging them with what happens at farming locations. Some of the activities that took place included:
• A free pancake breakfast
• Cooking demonstrations to help you understand more about the food you eat
• Seminars that will introduce you to how milk is processed
• Tours of the barn and bottling facility
• Other family-friendly, interactive activities
Additionally, attendees were able to meet and talk with the DenHaan family and ask them questions about how food is processed before it reaches the table. This year, several key people in the media also attended for entertainment purposes.
Be sure to get in touch with us if you want to know more details about this fun event for all ages.
